Overview

Grants are a way to help enhance and inspire economic development in Wyoming.

Funds are provided by the City of Cheyenne and Laramie County to help enhance projects and support businesses.

Criteria: 

  • Grants are focused on Community Development Projects that support any of the Economic Development Building Blocks. 

    This can include:

    • Workforce Development

    • Quality of Life Enhancement

    • Infrastructure

    • Community Leadership

    • Entrepreneurship

    • Business Expansion

  • Grant requests are brought forward by or in partnership with local economic development institutions.

    This may include organizations such as:

    • Local City or County Governments

    • Laramie County Community College

    • Cheyenne LEADS

    • Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce

    • Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority

    • Visit Cheyenne

    • Wyoming Business Council

    • Wyoming SBDC Network

    • Wyoming Economic Development Association

    • Wyoming Women’s Business Center

    • Or Local Nonprofits

  • Grants can potentially be used for for-profit small businesses in conjunction with a JPB loan.  

  • Preference given to projects that are done in conjunction with a local bank but have a gap in funding need. 

Terms: 

  • Do not need to be repaid. 

  • May include a recapture clause if used for real estate or development.  

  • Generally, between $10,000 and $75,000

  • May be paid out over the course of 1 year based on a reimbursement of invoices for use of the funds in accordance with the grant contract.
